Artist Statement
As an artist, my work is a reflection of the intricate interplay of light, movement, and depth in the natural world. Drawing from my academic background in Comparative Development and Environmental Studies, I have devoted the past six years to being a full-time professional artist. Through my paintings, I aim to encapsulate the essence of nature and convey its significance in fostering sustainability.
Each piece I create is a homage to the delicate dance of light and subtle shifts in the environment. I delve into the nuanced layers of depth as they intertwine with the scenes born from my imagination. Beyond mere aesthetics, I leverage my art to advocate for the preservation of nature, collaborating with esteemed organizations like The Nature Conservancy of Canada to illuminate the marvels of the natural world. Additionally, my passion for painting nature transcends the canvas, as I engage in scientific endeavours by collecting data during my explorations in the majestic Rockies of Alberta, Canada.
The inspiration drawn from the light, movement, and depth inherent in nature guides me to interpret these elements through various artistic movements such as abstract, expressionist, impressionist, and surrealist styles. By infusing my art with these dynamic influences, I strive to offer a visual narrative that celebrates the ever-evolving beauty and harmony of the natural realm.
