TakCarnet des Sommets – A Collection from the Field

These small watercolors were created during hikes through the Canadian Rockies this autumn. Many were painted in temperatures reaching –9°C, where the cold allowed only quick impressions—moments of looking, breathing, and responding. Some are true plein air sketches; others were completed during short rests on the trail, capturing the memory of light, the mood of the valley, or the quiet of the peaks.

Originally, this collection was private—a visual journal of movement, health, and presence in nature. A friend at l’Alliance Française encouraged me to share them, as they reveal a part of my process that often remains unseen: the act of being outdoors, walking, observing, and letting the landscape shape the work.

Each piece is framed and available for collectors. Works may be purchased now and will remain on view throughout the exhibition at Alliance Française d’Edmonton. Purchased pieces may be shipped after the exhibition, or collected in person. Early acquisitions are welcomed, and will be marked as reserved during the show.
