Artist Talk & Workshop: Carnet des Sommets at EPL
Date: Sunday, April 19, 2026 Time: [ Time, tba] Location: Edmonton Public Library, Woodcroft Branch (13420 114 Ave NW)
From the Summit to the Page Join me for an intimate afternoon at the Woodcroft Library as we close out the Carnet des Sommets exhibition journey. I will be sharing the stories behind the 6 to 12 plein air watercolour pieces currently on display—works born from the wind and light of Banff, Jasper, and the David Thompson backcountry.
This talk will dive into the concept of "emotional resonance" in landscape painting: how to capture the pulse of a place when you only have moments before the light changes. How to express emotions of sight and my work in general, as well as my upcoming solo exhibit, at which I will be showing large-scale oil paintings.
The Workshop: Before the talk, March 22 at 1 pm. I will lead a hands-on watercolour landscape workshop. Whether you are a seasoned painter or have never picked up a brush, this session is designed to help you find your own "poetic path" through colour and form. We will practice quick interpretation of one of my favourite watercolour techniques. You will create a landscape from your imagination or your photos.
