Trails of Connection
Oil on Canvas. This piece represents the very first step of my "Poetic Path." It was born from the moment I decided to stop viewing the mountains as a weekend escape and start viewing them as my primary office. Trails of Connection captures that electric feeling of standing at a trailhead where the path forward is uncertain, but the call to move is undeniable.
To mirror the physical grit and grandeur of the Alberta landscape, I utilized oil paint to build a tactile topography on the canvas. The ridges you see aren't just paint; they are the physical manifestation of the obstacles and elevations we face when we choose to live authentically. The light in this piece is designed to shift as you move around it, much like the lines moving over the image.
Trails of Connection is about the threads that tie us to the earth and to our own mental well-being. It is a reminder that when we choose to follow our passions, we aren't just walking away from a job; we are walking toward ourselves.
Time to make play into work!
Close up of the txtures of the paths in the painting
What the hell am I doing with my life moments captured on camera by my partner lol
A somatic art workshop I ran where I took people out for a walk into the paths to find leaves we later painted with to create art. For my upcoming workshop click on the picture.
In progress shot of the lines that felt surreal as I carved my way through those moments of confusion about life choices.
A picture from the night I completed the painting, after weeks of working on it.
This Painting is a central anchor of the upcoming 2026 solo exhibition 'Chemin Poétique.' It is currently available for pre-show acquisition for collectors who wish to secure it before the April 9 opening.
