Studio Studies

My art seeks to capture the essence of light, movement, and depth, and present it in a way that inspires and captivates the viewer. Through my work, I strive to create a visual experience that goes beyond the surface, inviting the viewer to explore the layers of meaning and emotion that lie within.
— Mariam Qureshi, Artist Statement

It all begins with an idea. Then a pinch of imagination when a brush full of colours strokes the blank canvas with what was in my heart for you to see!

Trusting in the process!

Creating a series of expressive figurative paintings with a long stick brush. I created these brushes with some leftover bonfire picks and broken acrylic brushes. I am using heavy watercolour paper in various sizes, with Windsor Newton watercolour tubes and inks. I am working on adding a little looser strokes to my new paintings so I am doing lots of studio studies. I can’t wait to put these new experiments into some new works in 2024!

I invite you to subscribe to get info on painting workshops where you can also join in the fun at my studio.
